On Holy Thursday, Leo XIV washed and kissed the feet of 12 priests in the Lateran Basilica. In his homily, he remembered his predecessor: "As Pope Francis once remarked: 'This is a duty that comes from the heart. I love it. I love it and I love doing it, because that is what the Lord has taught me to do.' He was not speaking of an abstract imperative or a formal, empty command, but rather expressing his heartfelt obedience to the charity of Christ, the source and model of our own charity."

Austria’s media regulator sanctions its state broadcaster ORF over pro-Hamas reporting – Allah's Willing Executioners

Austria’s state broadcasting behemoth ORF has come under criticism for what regulators call its one-sided reporting on the Gaza war.
In a recent ruling, the country’s communications authority KommAustria found the media company had “violated its legal principle of objectivity” in its self-made documentary on the war.
The documentary misconstrued facts and favoured Islamist terror organisation Hamas, said the regulator.
The decision – originally taken in February – was
published by KommAustria on its homepage at the end of March.
A spokesperson for the communications regulator told Brussels Signal it had published the decision due to heightened public interest.
Both ORF and the plaintiff, the Jewish Community of Vienna (IKG), have appealed the verdict, meaning it is not yet legally binding.
ORF is Austria’s state-owned broadcasting company – taking in more than €700 million from Austria’s 9 million inhabitants through a mandatory household TV tax.
The IKG filed the complaint against …

October 2026. Announced on March 19, 2026, the summit marks the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’ Amoris Laetitia to discuss its impact and further steps in family ministry.
Purpose: To conduct a "synodal discernment" on ministering to families and address changes impacting them.
Focus: The meeting focuses on the 10th anniversary of Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love), which dealt with pastoral care for families, including the controversial topic of Communion for divorced and remarried Catholics.
Context: Pope Leo described the document as a "luminous message of hope" and stated that pastoral attention to families is more necessary today than in 2016

Canadian Miriam Lancaster, 84, went to a hospital in Vancouver late March with severe back pain. She told EWTN that before any tests or diagnosis, a doctor offered assisted suicide: “The very first thing she said to me was: ‘I would like to offer you MAiD.’” She had come for treatment and responded: “No, thank you.” Lancaster added that her husband had previously been told the same and had replied: “There is no way that we are going to take measures to end our life. That is in the hands of the Lord.” A few years later she gave the same response.

When Miriam Lancaster went to the hospital for severe back pain, she was stunned to be offered euthanasia instead of real care. In this conversation, she shares how that moment exposed a terrifying shift in our culture: suffering patients are being treated as problems to “solve,” not persons to love. She says, her husband had also been offered assisted su*cide a few years earlier as well. From a Catholic perspective, Miriam’s story is a stark reminder that every life—especially when it’s fragile, disabled, or in pain—is precious, unrepeatable, and entrusted to us by God, not the state or the medical system. Her witness challenges us to build a society that offers compassion, accompaniment, and authentic palliative care, never a lethal injection disguised as “dignity.”

"Christian-Muslim dialogue" - Yuck! There is no dialoguing with muslims. You might as well be dialing-a-dog! We should not be dialoguing with anyone, we should be preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them and instructing them in the True Faith.

Does God Really Reject the Prayers of Leaders Who Wage War?

On Palm Sunday, March 29, in St. Peter’s Square, Leo XIV addressed tens of thousands of the Synodal faithful at the beginning of Holy Week. In remarks widely reported, he condemned the ongoing Iran war as “atrocious” and declared that God rejects the prayers of leaders who wage war, describing them as having “hands full of blood.” He further asserted that Jesus cannot be used to justify any wars.
No Catholic can deny that war is a grave evil most of the time, often the result of sin, pride, and the failure of justice, and that peace, penance, and the protection of innocent life should be sought. Prevost’s comments, though, fly in the face of important distinctions the Church has long upheld, and his suggestion that God rejects the prayers of all leaders engaged in war—and that Jesus cannot in any sense be invoked in the context of warfare—is more modernist nonsense so pathetic it is embarrassing. He must be referring to the limp-wristed false Jesus that he and his cronies made in …

As I have written before war is oftentimes necessary. St. Michael fought Lucifer. The Crusades fought the Moslems. The United States fought for her freedom from England, and there was WWI and WWII, as well as the Civil War.

Interview or Setup? Priest Says His Words Were Twisted

Rev. Jakob Rolland, chancellor of the Diocese of Reykjavík, Iceland, does not advocate changing “a person’s sexual attraction”. He told the Substack.com account The Pillar (March 31) that accusations he violated Iceland’s ban on “conversion therapy” stem from a “misunderstanding”.
Rev Rolland is a French priest who has lived in Iceland for more than 40 years.
The controversy arose from an interview with a lesbian journalist from the state broadcaster RÚV. The discussion initially focused on the Eucharist, including the need to be in a state of grace before receiving Communion.
The conversation shifted when the journalist asked whether people not living according to Church teaching could receive Communion. She offered her own example: a lesbian in a relationship, asking whether she could receive the Eucharist if she became Catholic.
Rev Rolland replied that she would need to reconsider her way of life.
When she said she did not want to change, he responded that this was her choice …Bebree

He seems to have deftly negotiated that trap, and very nicely clarified the Church's teaching.

When the lesbian said, "she did not want to change, he responded that this was her choice - but that in such a condition, she could not become Catholic or receive Communion." Hey, if Amoris Laetitia allows for people in the mortal sin of adultery to receive Communion, why not people living as active lesbians? One marginalized group on the peripheries ought to be as good as another one.

SAINT HUGH - April 1

(1053-1132)

St. Hugh was born in Chateau-neuf, Valence, Dauphiné. His father, Odilo, was an army officer who promoted Christianity and restrained vice through regulations and punishment. He took St. Hugh's advice, became a Carthusian monk and lived to be 100. He and his wife received Extreme Unction and Viaticum from St. Hugh in their last moments.
St. Hugh's relied on God's and received many graces during his canonry at the cathedral of Valence. When he was consecrated bishop of Grenoble, he implemented reforms and restrained vice. After two years, he resigned, received the habit of St. Bennet and began a novitiate at the Abbey of La Chaise-Dieu. He resumed serving as bishop after one year because of Pope Gregory VII.
St. Hugh was purified with a lingering illness before passing away on April 1, 1132, two months before his eightieth birthday. He had spent the last 52 years serving as bishop. Miracles attested the sanctity of his happy death. He was canonized …Bebree
