On 6 September, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) was denied entry to the Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi. The group had planned to conclude their annual pilgrimage with public prayer inside the basilica. Individual pilgrims were permitted to enter privately or in small groups. The group therefore remained outside and concluded their pilgrimage in the basilica square. Father Gabriele D’Avino, head of the FSSPX in Italy, drew a contrast between this decision and the interreligious gathering in Assisi on 27 October, for which representatives of different religions and Christian denominations are expected to attend the 40th anniversary of the 1986 World Day of Prayer for Peace.

209 Out of respect for the holiness of God, the people of Israel do not pronounce his name. In the reading of Sacred Scripture, the revealed name (YHWH) is replaced by the divine title "LORD" (in Hebrew Adonai, in Greek Kyrios). It is under this title that the divinity of Jesus will be acclaimed: "Jesus is LORD."
Statement from the Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage Organisers: "A Vatican source told AdVaticanum that the decision followed difficulties in obtaining access and permission for the celebration at St Peter’s this year." "According to the source, who is familiar with the negotiations, last year’s Mass was viewed within the Pope’s “circle” and among staff at St Peter’s Basilica as “gloating”... arguing that last year’s permission had been followed by a celebration whose scale and tone were interpreted as a triumph by those overseeing access to the basilica." “Whilst we are regretful that Mass will not be held at St Peter’s, we are grateful to the Holy Father and to the Cardinal Archpriest of the Liberian Basilica for giving us the opportunity to celebrate Mass alongside Our Lady,” the organiser said. [unamsanctamcatholicam] There is a well-known quote from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the author of Sherlock Holmes, to which I have always been partial. It goes, "When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." Doyle's quote speaks to the mechanics of problem solving—those sincerely interested in getting to the heart of a matter must be willing to put all options on the table. This is especially true when the difficulty is seemingly insoluble and defies easy explanation. In such cases, when all obvious options have been exhausted, reason dictates that we proceed down the line to those less obvious. We already know what doesn't work; our task is to discover what does, however counterintuitive it might seem. This attitude is, in my experience, what characterizes people and organizations who are truly interested in problem solving versus those who wish only to pay lip service to it whilst refusing to seriously try to fix …More
Can you hear Him? Can you hear His sweet words echoing through the wind, traveling through time, reaching everywhere, staying true to His promise on how things should pass away, but His Word would never. More than 2,000 years ago Jesus spoke about Almighty Father wanting Mercy and Justice in order to for us to have a rich spiritual life... Many powerful yet Sweet Words: "blessed the merciful as they shall receive Mercy, blessed those who hunger and thrist for righteousness, they will be filled", among all the others needed to go strive for perfection, you know, humility, meekness, pure of heart, compassion, accepting persecution in His Name and embracing joy for all of these happening in your life, once accepting Jesus as Lord, Mercy and Justice are the two that are the most twisted by our Lord’s enemies today. Our Lord’s left arm is Mercy and His right is Justice, as He is Divine Love apostle John says, I repeat, God is Love... Mercy and Justice are attaches to His Body, they act out …More
On 7 September, Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller addressed the “Tavola di Assisi 2026”: “Islam… is not ashamed of God, it is not ashamed of transcendence, but it proposes an anthropology and a revelation radically different from the Christian ones.” Invoking St Francis of Assisi’s encounter with Sultan al-Malik al-Kamil, Müller rejected the modern portrayal of Francis as a precursor of interreligious dialogue: “Francis did not go to Egypt to open a diplomatic salon and confirm the Sultan in his faith.” Instead, he went convinced that Jesus Christ is the only Savior. For Cardinal Müller, calling Muslims to conversion is “not an act of hostility… on the contrary, it is the highest act of charity.” He also warned that the Christian West is not “simply threatened by external forces, but is being worn down by an internal apostasy.”
The U.S. bishops’ Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) has given the Washington Interfaith Network (WIN) more than $400,000 across nine grant cycles since 2009, including $25,000 in 2026. The controversy concerns WIN’s leadership and CCHD oversight. Former CCHD grant specialist Randy Keesler was responsible for the Washington, D.C., region while also holding leadership roles within WIN - creating a potential conflict of interest. WIN is now headed by Protestant preacher Alison Dunn-Almauger, its executive director, who backed a homosexual campaign at Baylor University. Even more striking is WIN strategy-team member Rev. Rob Keithan, who previously worked with Planned Parenthood.

The devil attacks those who spread Christian truth, “corrupts the shepherds” of the Church and seeks particularly to destroy the family, Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke told Shawn Ryan in his September 8 podcast. Ryan is a former Navy SEAL and CIA contractor. He grew up Catholic but never “took Church seriously”. When he left home, he lost faith. In 2025, he called himself a Christian believer. In April 2026, he said, “I consider myself Catholic, but I bounce back and forth between that and non-denominational.” In the interview with Burke, he said that he had undergone four exorcisms with two different priests after what he described as encounters with demonic entities. He also mentioned a psychedelic experience that he believed had shown him hell. Ryan described sensationalist disturbances that continued after the exorcisms, including picture frames coming off the walls, unexplained bodily “manifestations” and every smoke alarm and detector in his house repeatedly going off at around 12:45…More
Cardinal Burke told the harsh truth: what happened in Sodom is happening again. The days of Noah too. Only now it has laws, doctors, and a flag. Not “things are bad.” Not “culture is changing.” The same pattern. God looked at the world before the flood and saw people violating the way He made them. Male and female. Marriage. The body. The family. Burke named the modern version without flinching. Transgenderism. Surgeries that mutilate the body to match an idea. Sexual relationships that break the bond of marriage. Evil getting praised as if it were good. Human life is inviolable. Sex is for the union of man and woman and the family. God is to be worshiped in spirit and in truth.
Renzo Pegoraro, Leo XIV-appointed President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, has doubled down on his mad position on assisted suicide. Following his Avvenire interview, Monsignor Pegoraro told Corriere.it that Italy should pursue a national law, calling on political parties to press Parliament for legislation rather than leaving the issue to regional authorities. On the same day, his predecessor, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, intervened in LaRepubblica.it, saying Parliament should “shoulder its responsibilities” and establish national rules. Archbishop Pegoraro also addressed a Trentino provincial council committee examining an assisted-suicide bill, where he again called for uniform national regulation. LaNuovaBq.it suggests the simultaneous interventions could point to coordinated Italian Church backing for a national assisted-suicide law, possibly involving Italian bishops’ president Cardinal Matteo Zuppi.
Today, the Vatican released the final report of Synodal Study Group 6, which deals with relations between bishops, religious and consecrated life, and lay ecclesial associations. Under a proposal to “establish more synodal structures,” the report calls for “equitable and participatory representation” of consecrated persons and laity “at all decision-making levels” - and: “as full members and not merely as consultants, in diocesan, national, and international commissions, as well as in Vatican dicasteries.” At the diocesan level “it is necessary to allow for broader participation of consecrated persons in the decision-making processes of the local Church.” Women Religious in the Selection of Bishops The report proposes to: “allow women religious to participate in the process of electing bishops responsible for consecrated life at the national and diocesan levels”. It also proposes their participation in the election of chaplains for religious communities. “Gender Equality” in the Workplace …More
For years we were taught that Moses wrote the books. It might have been more oral than written, but anyway, we have those books, thanks to Moses and his disciples.

The report in the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, which The New York Times could not confirm, said that Mr. Netanyahu had a 45-minute phone call with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, in late September 2023, and was told about …More
[Saint Bonaventure – XIII Century AD: born: Civita di Bagnoregio, Papal States/died: Lyon, Kingdom of Burgundy-Arles; (aged 52-53); Cardinal, Bishop, Doctor of the Church, Seraphic Doctor, Teacher of the Faith, Writer, Philosopher] CHAPTER IV -- THE NAME OF THE BLESSED MARY IS FREE FROM ALL VICE AND RESPLENDENT WITH EVERY VIRTUE Hail Mary. This most sweet and affectionate name, so full of grace and so noble, so glorious and so worthy, excellently befits Our Lady. For most fittingly is so loving a virgin named Mary. For she is Mary, in whom there is no vice, and who is glorious with every virtue. She is Mary, who was entirely immune from the seven capital sins. She was most humble in opposition to pride; most loving by charity in opposition to envy; most meek against anger by her gentleness; indefatigable by her diligence against sloth; Mary by her poverty was detached against avarice; against gluttony she was most sober by her temperance; against lust she was most chaste by her virginity …More
