Charlie Kirk's Assassin
Should we as Catholics support the death penalty for Charlie Kirk's Assassin? At 22 this kid appears to have been caught up in group(s). If he is able to be rehabilitated should he be put to death? I am heartbroken over Charlie's death, but is taking another life the answer? Life in prison?

Only his family in justice could request mercy for the assassin. Barring that, the death penalty for sure. A message has to be sent, and the punishment is proportionate. And the common good demands it.

The only thing approaching inexplicability is that the SSPX finds Leo’s words inexplicable.
Of course, even this is explicable: When the SSPX goes silent on scandal for too long, they’re pressured to say something, except by serving two masters (Rome and their faithful), they can only offer ambiguous descriptors like “inexplicable,” whereby Rome can interpret it not being a criticism, and their faithful can interpret it as being a strident denunciation.
But ambiguity, remember, is the language of the modernist.
