Dutch Bishop Mutsaerts discussed Pope Leo XIV’s responsibility for denying traditional Catholics entry into St. Peter’s Basilica (Remnant Interview): "Well, ultimately, he is responsible. As a pope, you have that power. You're responsible. Whatever the opposition in the Curia might be, you're responsible."
When asked how long Catholics should give Pope Leo XIV the benefit of the doubt, Bishop Mutsaerts said: "Yes, I was very hopeful at first. But I'm starting to doubt. Maybe it's not right to do that. But I hope things will turn out for the best."

Ora sto cominciando a nutrire qualche dubbio. Forse non è giusto farlo. [...]

Biskup Robert Mutsaerts spočiatku vkladal nádeje do pontifikátu Leva XIV., teraz však začína mať pochybnosti.
Pápež Lev XIV. nesie v konečnom dôsledku zodpovednosť za rozhodnutie odmietnuť tradičným katolíckym pútnikom vstup do Baziliky svätého Petra, povedal biskup Mutsaerts pre The Remnant 26. októbra.
Hoci si nebol istý, či Lev osobne vedel o tomto rozhodnutí, Mutsaerts trval na tom: „No, nakoniec je za to zodpovedný on. [...] Akýkoľvek odpor by v Kúrii mohol byť, zodpovednosť nesiete vy.“
Na otázku, ako dlho by mali katolíci naďalej dávať pápežovi Levovi výhodu pochybností, Mutsaerts odpovedal: „Na začiatku som bol veľmi plný nádeje. Teraz začínam trochu pochybovať. Možno to nie je správne. [...]

Biskup Robert Mutsaerts początkowo podchodził z nadzieją do pontyfikatu Leona XIV, jednak obecnie zaczyna mieć wątpliwości.
Papież Leon XIV ponosi ostateczną odpowiedzialność za decyzję o odmowie wstępu tradycyjnym pielgrzymom katolickim do Bazyliki św. Piotra – powiedział biskup Mutsaerts w rozmowie z „The Remnant” 26 października.

XIV. Leó pápa viseli a végső felelősséget azért a döntésért, hogy megtagadják a hagyományos katolikus zarándokok belépését a Szent Péter-bazilikába – nyilatkozta Mutsaerts püspök október 26-án a The Remnantnak.
Bár nem biztos abban, hogy XIV. Leó személyesen tudott-e a döntésről, Mutsaerts így hangsúlyozta: „Nos, végső soron ő a felelős. [...]
Most már kezdek kicsit kételkedni. Talán nem is helyes ezt tenni. [...] Remélem, hogy a dolgok a legjobb irányba alakulnak.”
