Garlic is a wonderful herb, but it is extremely poisonous to dogs.

Edie Loughmiller

I've been a garlic grower for years, too. I had the most success growing it in a garden, but it hasn't made it through the winter when I've planted it in pots. Either something is eating it or it has gotten too cold. Fermenting garlic in honey and then storing the jars in the refrigerator has given me a way to make it last more than one growing season.

Easiest plant I found to grow. I have not bought it for over 20 years. Just place a clove flat side down with pointed tip up in the ground. Each will produce at least half a dozen. Plant October. Harvest July. Nothing bothers it either. Just need a pot.
