How they distribute Holy Communion to over 20,000 Catholics

It’s a kind of desperation. And a lack of understanding — but even more, a lack of proper leadership. There should be no distribution of Communion outside a proper sacred place — that is, the church — except in cases of real necessity. They simply do not seem to understand this. With such enormous numbers of pilgrims, there is no need to distribute the Eucharist in this manner. The Blessed Sacrament should be reserved for those who may truly need it along the way, for example the dying. Everyone else can — and should — wait until Mass in church.
Japanese Catholics once had to wait nearly 200 years for a priest — a single priest — let alone for the Lord in the Most Holy Sacrament.
It is also known that in some enclosed monasteries, such as the one in Ágreda, the nuns would receive a Host at Mass from a priest who came only once or twice a year.

That is why I never take Communion in such conditions.

I love how they are kneeling, and receive on the tongue. Kudos. But, boys in shorts should not be serving alongside the priest and hats should be taken off by the young when receiving.

It certainly represents a product of the time we live in.
