One message for Muslims, another for Catholics: While Pope Leo XIV described the Great Mosque of Algiers in April as "a divine, sacred space" where "God is present", Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad, Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, told AdVanticanum.com on June 22 that "Catholics should understand papal gestures in non-Christian spaces as symbolic acts of encounter and dialogue" and "not as approval of all religious beliefs equally."
After Leo XIV told moslems that mosques are "sacred space", Cardinal Koovad says that "Catholics should understand papal gestures in non-Christian spaces (Mosques) as symbolic acts of encounter and dialogue, not as a denial of the uniqueness of Christ or as approval of all religious beliefs equally."
Running Gloria.tv is not an easy task. Neither is reading it, contributing to it, discussing on it, accepting other users, or donating to keep it alive. Yet together we have built the only Catholic social media platform. It serves the Faith. It serves its users. And increasingly, it serves freedom. Gloria.tv is financed entirely by donations. Almost all of them are small; many are very small. They are given for God's sake. There are no tax deductions. There are no foundations. There are no wealthy sponsors with agendas. There is only the support of ordinary people, many of them retired, who believe that Gloria.tv should exist. Every summer brings the same challenge. Donations decline sharply, while the costs of operating Gloria.tv remain the same. That is why your donation is greatly appreciated - or rather, needed. If you can help, please donate. On June 20, Leo XIV has appointed Rev Elímar Gerardo Carvajal Durán, 50, as Bishop of Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Born in Grecia in 1976 and ordained a priest in 2003, Monsignor Carvajal Durán has served in various pastoral roles within the Diocese of Alajuela and most recently as Diocesan Vicar for Pastoral Ministry. He is a strongly synodal, CELAM-formed, Francis-era pastoral organizer. His public record shows extensive commitment to "discernment", "accompaniment", and "synodality". Strong Synodal Profile By September 2022, Rev. Carvajal had assumed a leading role in coordinating the Diocese of Alajuela's Diocesan Synodal Process. In a September 28, 2022 talk on the Youtube channel of the Diocese of Alajuela, Monsignor Carvajal uses all of the Francis’ buzzwords such as "the synodal Church", "the reality is always before the idea", “listening to the cries of people”, etc. His Language Speaks Volumes In a September 5, 2023 video, Monsignor Carvajal said that discernment and synodality …Aswan
He needs to affirm the Creeds, Councils and Cathechisms in the original. He does not do this. This is a canonical issue. With Vatican Council II rational we can affirm the Council and Tradition. But the bishop, with Vatican Council II irrational cannot affirm both. A bishop who cannot affirm de fide teachings in Tradition which are not contradicted by Vatican Council II, cannot hold his office. It is obligatory, morally and canonically for the bishop to affirm Vatican Council I I only rationally ( LG 16 inviible.)
"2.14 ELIMINATION OF HUMAN SACRIFICE BY THE STAR-WORSHIPPERS. I saw, too, that as a result of this vision on the day of the conception of Mary, fifteen years before the birth of Christ, these star-worshippers did away with a terrible religious custom of theirs—a cruel sacrifice of children, long practiced among them as the result of revelations which had been misunderstood by them and confused by evil influences. They had carried out at different times and in different manners sacrifices of both children and grown people. I saw that before Mary’s conception they had the following custom. They took a child of one of the purest and most devout mothers amongst the followers of their religion, and she esteemed herself very fortunate to offer up her child in this way. The child was flayed and strewn with flour to absorb the blood. They ate this blood-soaked flour as a holy repast, and continued strewing the flour and eating until there was no blood left in the child’s body. Finally the …Aswan
[Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich – XVIII-XIX Century AD; born: Flamschen, Holy Roman Empire/died: Dulmen, German Confederation; Mystic; Stigmatist, Writer] 2.11 THE BLESSED VIRGIN REVEALS SECRETS ABOUT THEIR LIVES. [During her visions of Jesus’ ministry Catherine Emmerich related the following on December 16 th , 1822.] I often hear the Blessed Virgin telling the women who were her close intimates (for instance, Joanna Chuza and Susanna of Jerusalem) various secrets about herself and about Our Lord, which she knows partly from inner knowledge and partly from what her holy mother Anna told her. Thus today I heard her telling Susanna and Martha that during the time when she was bearing Our Lord within her she never felt the slightest discomfort, nothing but infinite inner joy and beatitude. She told them, too, that Joachim and Anna had met in the hall under the Golden Gate in a golden hour; and that God’s grace had been granted to them here in such abundance as to make it possible for …Aswan
Monsignor Livio Melina (pictured with Benedict XVI), former president (2006-2016) of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, has written on Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia’s role in the suppression of the original Institute. Melina responded on LaNuovaBq.it (June 20) to a May 21 interview Paglia gave to Settimana News. “Cover for an Unconfessable Interest” Melina’s most striking accusation comes near the end of his essay: “Paglia’s actions were not moved by theological reasons, but by an ideological criticism of the Institute.” He suggests that ideology serves to hide deeper motives: “Ideology, as Karl Marx taught us, functions as a cover for an unconfessable interest.” Melina suggests that the suppression may have stemmed from a conviction that the Church's traditional teaching on marriage and family is "unreasonable" and "impracticable". "No Facts, Only Interpretations" - Nietzsche Melina accuses Paglia's paradigm of resting on the "principle of …Aswan
The Church has “frequently wounded the LGBT community through judgmentalism and exclusion,” Washington Cardinal Robert McElroy claimed in a June 20 homily at the homosexual conference Outreach, held at the Jesuits’ Georgetown University. He pointed to "two developments during the pontificate of Leo XIV". The first was a remark Leo XIV made during his trip to Africa in April, when he said that “the unity or division in the church should not revolve around sexual matters.” Cardinal McElroy commented: “Too often both in magisterial statements and on the popular level, sexual sins have been condemned with an ardor that effectively places them in the eyes of many believers as the core moral obligation of Christians.” Leo XIV instead pointed “to the comparative importance of economic justice, war and peace, immigration and racism as key elements of the Christian moral life.” The second development cited by McElroy was the publication of the report of synod's Study Group 9 in May and …Aswan
"95. Such are the words of the Evangelist. He speaks in the past, because at that time was shown to him a vision of that which had already happened. He says: “And a great sign appeared in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet and on her head a crown of twelve stars.” This sign appeared really in the heavens by divine disposition and was shown to the good and the bad angels, in order that seeing it, they might subject their will to the pleasure and the commands of God. They saw it therefore before the good ones chose the good and before the bad ones had turned to evil. It was as it were a mirror of the wonderful perfection of the handiwork of God in creating human nature."
[Venerable Mary of Agreda – XVII Century AD; born: Agreda, Spain/died: Agreda, Spain; ‘Lady in Blue’; Abess; Writer; Mystic] CHAPTER VIII ~ WHICH FOLLOWS UP THE PREVIOUS DISCOURSE BY THE EXPLANATION OF THE TWELFTH CHAPTER OF THE APOCALYPSE. 94. The literal version of that chapter of the Apocalypse is as follows : 1. ‘And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars: 2. And being with child, she cried travailing in birth, and was in pain to be delivered. 3. And there was seen another sign in heaven; and behold a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns; and on his head seven diadems. 4. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth and the dragon stood before the woman, who was ready to be delivered; that, when she should be delivered, he might devour her son. 5. And she brought forth a man-child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod; and her son …Aswan
2nd book of Kings 17,5-8.13-15a.18. Shalmaneser, king of Assyria, occupied the whole land and attacked Samaria, which he besieged for three years. In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria took Samaria, and deported the Israelites to Assyria, settling them in Halah, at the Habor, a river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes. This came about because the Israelites sinned against the LORD, their God, who had brought them up from the land of Egypt, from under the domination of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and because they venerated other gods. They followed the rites of the nations whom the LORD had cleared out of the way of the Israelites (and the kings of Israel whom they set up). And though the LORD warned Israel and Judah by every prophet and seer, "Give up your evil ways and keep my commandments and statutes, in accordance with the entire law which I enjoined on your fathers and which I sent you by my servants the prophets," they did not listen, but were as stiff-necked as their …Aswan
“I believe with all my heart that God is inviting us to reimagine parish life, priestly ministry, and our mission with new creativity and deep faith, to build something that will last — something vibrant, sustainable, and full of hope.” Well, there was a Catholic Faith which survived 300 years of persecution and then another 1600 of invasions and a protestant revolt. You might want to give that a try. Seems a bit more "vibrant" then the modernist hash in ented 60 years ago.
