Isabel Vaughan-Spruce is being prosecuted again. The 48-year-old Catholic faces a new trial in January 2027 after pleading not guilty to interfering with an abortion clinic. Prosecutors say she stood inside a 150-metre buffer zone outside a Birmingham clinic on five occasions in 2025. Vaughan-Spruce replies she approached no one and simply prayed silently in her head. She was arrested over silent prayer in 2022 and 2023 and received a £13,000 police settlement in 2024. “Wherever we are permitted to be, our thoughts inevitably go with us,” she says. “Those thoughts should not be subject to censorship.” The new case is being brought under England’s national buffer-zone law.

Isabel Vaughan-Spruce will face trial in January 2027 after being charged over silently praying outside an abortion centre in Birmingham

The fight for the freedom to pray

The past 10 years have seen a deepening desire by officials and campaigners to see the pro-life movement confined to places it cannot be seen. It is being enacted through buffer zones around places in which abortions occur across the United Kingdom and enforced, when the state feels necessary, by arrests and prosecution. Isabel Vaughan-Spruce will go to trial in January, 2027, for silently praying outside of an abortion centre. It will conclude a five-year ordeal which included two arrests and winning a settlement before she was criminally charged last year.

Oncologist Dr. Angus Dalgleish warns that the Covid mRNA injections "definitely" induce advanced-stage "turbo" cancers. He recounts how powerful interests, including Pfizer, routinely pressure journals to remove critical papers questioning vaccine safety. "Pfizer pay a team of people to go through every journal, basically targeting and attacking the editor to remove it if it suggests that its vaccines are anything less than safe and effective." "This is the level of interference and corruption that's been going on. And we have to get rid of it because otherwise we're never going to have good health."

Cardinal Battaglia Wants to Accompany Transvestites

Cardinal Domenico Battaglia, 63, of Naples, Italy, wrote the foreword to the book 'Transgender People'. He believes that the Church is called to "renew its gaze upon humanity".
The book deals with “complex and sensitive issues,” he writes. His examples are “gender dysphoria, transgender identities, and life experiences that do not conform to traditional models.” This raises “profound questions - including for the Church.”
Cardinal Battaglia proposes “a path not of condemnation, but of accompaniment”: “No one is excluded from God’s heart.”
And: “No life is foreign to the mystery of salvation.”
“Every person, every story - even those that seem distant or difficult to understand - carries within it the possibility of a revelation.”
The book “reminds us that behind ideas there are people. People whom we must encounter, listen to, and accompany.”

Italian bishop closes church after real-estate ad filmed at altar: A Catholic church in Ventimiglia, Italy, was temporarily closed after an estate agent used its altar to film a promotional video for a nearby property. Bishop Antonio Suetta ruled the unauthorized commercial use a profanation and suspended Eucharists until a penitential rite on Sept. 4. The parish priest was reportedly unaware of the filming. The diocese has also announced a formal complaint to authorities.

On 3 September, SilereNonPossum.com published a video of Cardinal Mauro Gambetti at an apparently lavish private gathering. In the video, guests can be seen singing together in an opulent setting. 'Some sing while St Peter's Basilica falls apart,' wrote the outlet sarcastically, contrasting the surroundings with Gambetti's Franciscan vows and his public emphasis on humility, poverty, and immigration. SilereNonPossum has repeatedly criticised Cardinal Gambetti’s leadership of St Peter’s Basilica.

PLACE YOUR COMMENTS IF YOU'D LIKE. 2027 UPCOMING MOVIE PART 1 VIRTUES VS THE SINS - THESE CLIPS POSTED ON SEP 4, 2026
ABOUT THE MOVIE: Virtues Against Sins: This film is being produced gradually under the supervision of the Church. It will consist of three parts. The first part presents catechesis on the virtues that counter sins, based on the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church and the Doctors of the Church. Just as our Lord Jesus spoke in parables and used elements of nature and everyday life things and people. This movie will use elements of nature, humanoid (human like) monsters to represent the sins, and critters and insects to represent temptations. The first part will be composed of fantastical elements to describe how virtues oppose the sins within the soul, not outside but inside, the internal battle for holiness.
The second part features real-life anecdotes addressing various life situations, as well as the crisis of faith within the Church. The third part will include mystical …Aswan

Archbishop Jesús Sanz Montes of Oviedo has backed rallies across Spain in support of Ceuta and Melilla. He criticised Morocco’s “territorial claims” and accused Spain’s government of failing to act. His comments came after more than 70,000 immigrants crossed from Morocco into Ceuta on 31 July, overwhelming the Spanish exclave. Around 5,000 are said to remain. A police report cited this week called the mass crossing “planned” and raised possible links to Moroccan security forces. Rallies have since spread across Spain under the slogan: “Ceuta is not for sale — Ceuta must be defended.”

Philippine Couple Weds in Flooded Church: Leian Lieza Galang and Gilbert Chico refused to let flooding ruin their wedding in Hagonoy, north of Manila. The couple exchanged vows in waist-deep water at St. John the Baptist Church after weeks of heavy rain. Around 15 guests waded through brown water to attend. Despite the parish advising them to postpone, the couple went ahead: the bride shortened her wedding dress train and the priest kept the ceremony brief. “We didn’t mind getting soaked,” the groom told media.

Despite severe flooding at St. John the Baptist Parish in Hagonoy, Bulacan, Philippines, Leian Lieza Galang and Gilbert Chico chose to go forward with their Catholic wedding on Sept. 1. With their clothes soaked and fewer than 15 guests present, they stood before the altar and received the Sacrament of Matrimony.

That would constitute remarkably poor judgement from Rome even if Lizardo Estrada were simply another name passing across the Pope’s desk. But he isn’t — Robert Prevost knows Lizardo Estrada very well. This is not one of those tenuous Vatican connections in which two churchmen happened to occupy neighbouring seats at a conference twenty years ago. Estrada has described Prevost as his professor and his spiritual director. Vatican News itself describes Prevost as Estrada’s formator in the Order of Saint Augustine. Estrada studied under him at Trujillo, where Prevost taught Patristics and Canon Law and served in Augustinian formation.
The relationship therefore goes back to Estrada’s formative years as a young religious. Teacher and pupil. Formator and seminarian. Spiritual director and directee. Fellow Augustinians. Later, fellow bishops in Peru. And now Pope and archbishop-elect. Is there anything improper about a pope appointing somebody he knows?

Whose Man Is He? Leo XIV, Lizardo Estrada and the Return of Papal Patronage

There are episcopal appointments which are surprising, appointments which are disappointing and there are appointments which seem to demand an explanation. The decision of Pope Leo XIV to appoint Bishop Lizardo Estrada Herrera OSA as Coadjutor Archbishop of Cuzco belongs firmly in the third category. On 29 August the Holy See announced that Estrada, until now an auxiliary bishop of Cuzco, had been appointed coadjutor of the ancient Peruvian archdiocese. This is more than simply an honorary promotion because a coadjutor possesses the right of succession. Barring some extraordinary intervention, Lizardo Estrada will therefore become the next Metropolitan Archbishop of Cuzco. Under ordinary circumstances there would be nothing particularly startling about that. Estrada is 52, has been a bishop since 2021, holds advanced degrees in moral and pastoral theology, has considerable experience of Augustinian government and formation and since 2023 has served as Secretary General of CELAM, the …

Only 45% of US Bishops Say Homosexuality Disqualifies from Priesthood

The University of Notre Dame's McGrath Institute for Church Life has published on July 17 a report containing twelve proposals for assessing candidates for the priesthood. Entitled, "Do You Know Them to Be Worthy?", the file was written by Father Thomas V. Berg and psychologist Timothy G. Lock.
The report draws on research commissioned from the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) and a consultation held at Notre Dame in September 2025.
The proposals concern psychological assessment, candidates with particular psychological or developmental conditions, and formation for chastity and celibacy. It addresses candidates with conditions including ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder and autism spectrum disorder.
On homosexual attraction, the Notre Dame authors note that a pause in formation may "more often than not" lead to a decision not to advance a candidate toward ordination.
The authors think the pause is needed to assess four things:
- how the man understands his identity; …Aswan

I know, I know. We’ve all been told that Christmas in the Philippines starts on September 1st. Sorry to ruin the fun, but that’s not actually true.
The Philippines doesn’t have its own Christmas calendar. Christmas begins with the Midnight Mass on December 24th, whether you’re in the Philippines, Hawaii, Europe, or Vietnam.
Yes, you can start playing Christmas songs in September, or all year long if you want. Just don’t tell people it’s already Christmas.

've launched a Substack. Read the essay version of this video here: What Exactly is “The West”? What exactly is "the West"? It's one of the most commonly used political concepts today. Politicians invoke the idea of 'the West' to justify wars, alliances, and trade agreements. In this video, I argue that the term has been hijacked. There is the real West — the civilizations of Europe, the people, art, faith, and history of the continent. And then there is the fake West — a post-1945 geopolitical bloc centered in Washington, inseparable from NATO and Zionist interests. These two things are not the same - and this video explains the difference.

Spanish Bishop Threatens Resignation Over Virgin’s Place at Opus Dei Sanctuary

Bishop Ángel Javier Pérez Pueyo of Barbastro-Monzón, Spain, has said he would offer his resignation rather than sign a settlement under which the statue of Our Lady of the Angels of Torreciudad remains permanently at the Opus Dei sanctuary.
The bishop drew his red line in a public letter on 31 August, ahead of the image’s return to its ancient hermitage on 5 September for the 47th Pilgrimage of the Virgins of Ribagorza and Sobrarbe.
That return is temporary. It has been authorized by Archbishop Alejandro Arellano Cedillo, the pontifical commissioner for Torreciudad.
After the pilgrimage, the image is due to return to the sanctuary.
Bishop Pérez Pueyo’s threat concerns the final settlement: he refuses to accept an arrangement under which the statue remains there permanently and returns to the hermitage only on special occasions.
He would "never sign such an unlikely act of plundering your dignity," he wrote, adding he would instead offer his resignation.
The dispute has effectively been …Aswan
