Bishop René Henry Gracida has died at the age of 102. A veteran of World War II who flew combat missions aboard bombers before entering the priesthood, Gracida later served as Bishop of Pensacola-Tallahassee and then as Bishop of Corpus Christi, Texas, from 1983 to 1997. In his later years, he became known for questioning the legitimacy of Pope Francis’s papacy. Requiescat in pace.
From Diocese of Corpus Christi At the age of 102, Bishop René Henry Gracida passed away on the morning of May 1, 2026. Bishop Mario Avilés wrote, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bishop Emeritus René Henry Gracida. He served as the fifth Bishop of the Diocese of Corpus Christi from 1983 until 1997. We are deeply grateful for his faithful service as our shepherd for 14 years.” Previously, he was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee in Florida (1975–1983) and as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Miami in Florida (1971–1975). Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 9, 1923, Gracida was the second child of Enrique J. Gracida Carrizosa, a Mexican architect and engineer, and Mathilde Derbes, a fifth-generation French American Cajun. His great uncle was a vicar general of a diocese in Mexico. As a teenager, Gracida was fascinated by the Jesuit martyrs portrayed in James Fenimore Cooper’s novel The Last of the Mohicans. During World War …Máis
Today, Pope Leo XIV has appointed three new U.S. bishops who have expressed criticism of President Donald Trump. Evelio Menjivar-Ayala, 55, currently auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Washington, is the new bishop of Wheeling-Charleston covering West Virginia. He is a formerly undocumented immigrant who was smuggled into the United States in a car trunk. Furthermore, Leo XIV elevated the prelates Gary Studniewski, 68, and Robert Boxie, 45, as new auxiliary bishops for Washington Archdiocese. Cardinal McElroy of Washington is one of the strongest pro-homosexual infiltrators. He publicly defended Fiducia Supplicans and said U.S. opposition focused on homosexual blessings reflected “enduring animus” toward homosexuals. His Archdiocese of Washington spans Washington, D.C., and surrounding Maryland communities, placing its bishops in regular contact with policymakers, diplomats and national media. With Menjivar, Boxie and Studniewski, Leo XIV has again reinforced a leadership group …Máis
An immigrant from El Salvador was chosen to be the shepherd of a state (West Virginia) with the lowest percentage of Spanish speakers in the country (less than 1.5%).
Being a “critic” of DJT is a good thing….a very good thing. These newly appointed Bishops may have other dire issues but in this area they’re right on target.
Justice Department prosecutors in the Biden administration joked about prosecuting Catholic nuns who attended a pro-Trump rally, according to text messages released by Senator Chuck Grassley and reported by DailyWire.com on April 29. Prosecutor Molly Gaston wrote after viewing a photo of nuns wearing habits at the rally: “I would like to take a special assignment of finding and prosecuting them.” Prosecutor Joseph Cooney replied, “I’m with you,” adding that he would like to prosecute “any nun who still wears the head habit.” Grassley obtained the messages during an investigation into Justice Department conduct and condemned the remarks as evidence of bias against religious Americans. #newsHtiwujinop
Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived. She found that pretty snake she’d taken in had been revived. “Take me in, oh tender woman , “Take me in, for heaven’s sake, “Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake. Now she clutched him to her bosom, “You’re so beautiful,” she cried. “But if I hadn’t brought you in by now you might have died.” Now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed and held him tight . But instead of saying thanks, that snake gave her a vicious bite. …“I saved you,” cried that woman. “And you've bit me even, why? “You know your bite is poisonous and now I’m going to die.” “Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin, “You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in.”
The United States Department of Justice released on April 30 a 548-page report on how the Biden administration targeted believing Christians, including traditional Catholics. The report concludes that the Biden administration “zealously pursued actions to limit Christians’ ability to act in accordance with their faith,” particularly those holding traditional biblical views on abortion, sexuality, and gender. Among the report’s findings is that the FBI’s Richmond Field Office treated traditional Catholics as potential extremists, including churches associated with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X. The FBI expanded its scrutiny after interviewing Xavier Louis Lopez, a self-described “radical traditional Catholic Clerical Fascist” convicted of possessing destructive devices. Agents opened a formal law-enforcement “Guardian profile” on his church and interviewed his priest, despite the parish having no involvement in his crimes. Agents also tracked the priest’s jail visits to Lopez …Máis
Among Benedictines, the Roman Rite and the Novus Ordo coexist very peacefully side by side, said Abbot Primate Jeremias Schröder, a German Benedictine, in an interview with KNA on 30 April. Throughout the order, there are around ten abbeys that celebrate the old rite, mostly in France. The majority belong to the Congregation of Solesmes. Fontgombault Abbey was the first of a group of monasteries that celebrate according to the old rite and they are fully integrated into the Solesmes congregation. Most monasteries in that congregation use the Novus Ordo. In addition, there is Le Barroux Abbey and its daughter foundations, which were initially oriented towards the Lefebvrist movement. Following the episcopal consecrations in 1988, the monastery returned to full communion with Rome is now under the authority of Abbot Schröder. He also mentioned the community in Norcia, Italy (pictured). Novus Ordo in Fontgombault Abbot Schröder summarised: "We all treat one another with respect. As Abbot …Máis
Anglican 'Archbishopessa' Hints at Male-Only Priesthood as Injustice: After her audience with Leo XIV on Monday, Mrs Sarah Mullally, who holds the title and costume of Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, was asked whether she had spoken with the Pope about the impossibility of female ordination. She replied evasively, stating that although she is not a politician, one of her roles is to "speak out where there is injustice". The interview took place at the Venerable English College, a Catholic seminary in Rome.
In an interview at the Venerable English College in Rome following her private audience with Pope Leo XIV, Sarah Mullally was asked whether she discussed the ministry of women with the Pope. “First and foremost, I am a pastor and a spiritual leader. But of course, in sometimes speaking as a spiritual leader and a pastor and a Christian, there are things that we will say that may be perceived as political – but I am not a politician.” “In a sense, what I’m hoping to do is to provide people with hope, praying for those who are in difficulty,” she continued. Mullally then hinted that she sees the ban on female ordinations as an “injustice,” stating that one of her tasks is “at times speaking out where there is injustice, but doing it in a way that is certainly pastoral and spiritually founded.”
Brothers—in case you have not yet grasped it—allow me to translate this for you into the very language of Marxist liberation pseudo-theology. Do you not realize that the war Prevost is waging is against Christ and His Church? This ideology teaches that the Catholic Church—Christ, His Church, and His male priesthood—are precisely the oppressors against whom they fight to defend the rendering of "justice" to (heretical) Protestants, to Jews who reject Christ, to pagans (Pachamamists), to idolatrous Muslims and all other false religions, to blasphemous atheists, and to all the unrepentant—such as sodomites, adulterers, and the like.

The posessed act this way, this is not a case of just a man being "mental", this is posession, look how a man passes by and did nothing to protect her so the attacker did nothingto him... BUT a samaritan rushed and the posessed attacked him once he tries to protect her. Yes, the sun cannot be blocked by my or anyone's finger, both Jews and muslims are taught to hate outside of their religions since birth, AND our Lord warned us, they don’t hate you, as they hated Him first. After seeing this, did you developed hate in your heart? The lesson here is, despite the hate, we should Love, despite the anger, you should give your other cheek, despite the impotence you should continue carry your cross, there will be a time for action, as this didn’t happen in front of us, but if it did, you should be samaritans and not pharisees. Pray for those who protect and those who endure theur crosses well, pray for our clergy and religious, asthey swore to drink the chalice of suffering, this for this …Máis
Carmelite community of Campiégne martyrs to close: The historic Carmelite community of Compiègne, which is now based in Jonquières, France, is closing. The six remaining nuns have announced that they will be leaving due to the ageing nature of the community and a lack of new vocations. Founded in 1641, the community is best known for the sixteen Carmelite martyrs of Compiègne who were executed during the French Revolution in 1794 and canonised by Pope Francis in 2024. The monastery in Jonquières has been home to the community since 1992. The nuns are leaving over the coming months, not all at once.
