Leo XIV Promotes Mexican Archbishop Purified by Mazatec Indigenious Rites

Pope Leo XIV appointed today Coadjutor José Armando Álvarez Cano as Archbishop of Morelia, Mexico. Morelia is one of Mexico’s most important ecclesiastical jurisdictions.
Álvarez was born in Jiquilpan, in the Diocese of Zamora, in January 1960. He was ordained a priest in 1986 for the Diocese of Zamora and holds a licentiate in pastoral theology.
After serving in various parishes and spending two years as a missionary priest in Peru, he returned to Mexico as a parish priest and head of clergy formation in his diocese.
He was appointed Bishop of the Territorial Prelature of Huautla in 2011 (10 parishes, 24 priests) by Benedict XVI and was ordained a bishop in January 2012.
In 2019, he was transferred to become Bishop of Tampico (72 parishes, 147 priests).
In January 2025, Pope Francis – with his Prefect Robert Prevost of the Congregation of Bishops – appointed him Coadjutor of Morelia (242 parishes, 455 priests).

U.S. send a military ariplane and lands it in Toluca, Mexico, maximum alarm. D.T. is moving his cards to try another invasion as he has said so many times that Mexico, Canada, Colombia, Greenland are in his list. He is the prelude to what's to come when the Anti-Christ appears, as more innocent Americans keep falling victims of ICE, some not reported killings and others ending in hospitals because of the beatings and shootings, and other military craft being used by ICE. Trump is provoking to be able to call the insurrection act or to call martial law nation wide and kill at his pleasure as he has no values at all for human life. Civil war is coming, and WW 3 is at the door, the door is opening now, all of a sudden we will hear the bombs exploding and millions being killed.

Cardinal Parolin Confirms Report on Vatican Mediation With Maduro

On Saturday, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin confirmed that he tried to find a solution in Venezuela that would avoid bloodshed, including seeking an agreement with Nicolás Maduro and other representatives of the government. The Cardinal added that these efforts ultimately failed.
Speaking on the sidelines of an event, Parolin said: "We tried what also appeared in some newspapers". This was an indirect reference to earlier reporting by Washington Post about Vatican involvement in efforts to secure a safe passage for Maduro before his capture by the United States.
Cardinal Parolin added that the Vatican had always supported a peaceful solution, but that it eventually found itself faced with a fait accompli, meaning the situation had developed beyond what diplomacy could influence.
In short, Parolin’s Saturday remarks publicly confirmed that:
- The Vatican tried to broker a peaceful exit for Maduro
- This included negotiating directly or indirectly with Maduro and his …Daplü

Migrant who fled to Britain after sexual assault on schoolgirl fighting deportation on human rights – Allah's Willing Executioners

Azizadeen Alsheikh Suliman was housed in the Britannia Ashley Hotel in Greater Manchester | Google Maps
A migrant who fled Germany to come to Britain after being convicted of sexually assaulting a schoolgirl is fighting deportation due to human rights.
Azizadeen Alsheikh Suliman, 31, was given a suspended sentence after sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl on a boozy night out in the German city of Osnabrück in 2022.
Suliman, who left his native Syria after being shot in the foot, then escaped via a small boat to the UK, the Daily Mail reports.
A court heard that Suliman gave his name incorrectly and was put up in taxpayer-funded accommodation in an upmarket suburb in Greater Manchester, along with his pregnant wife, an asylum seeker whom he married in Nigeria, and their newborn baby.
He was caught out in October, identified as a fugitive, and held under a European Arrest Warrant.
He appeared in court last week claiming his life would be at risk if he were returned to Germany.

After the serious train accident in Adamuz, Spain, the Diocese of Córdoba reacted quickly with material and institutional support. Bishop Jesús Fernández expressed his condolences, the parishes opened its doors, and volunteers provided shelter and basic aid. However, while material and psychological help were highlighted, there was no clear communication from the diocesan communications about sacramental care.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò Invenerunt in templo – Homily on the feast of the Holy Family – January 11, 2026

As the years go by, you realize that real friendship isn’t about how many contacts you have in your phone or how many smiling photos you can post. It’s about the people who stay when everyone else quietly fades out. The ones who see your tears, your weaknesses, your defeats — and still hold your hand without letting go.
True friends don’t need long explanations. One look is enough for them to know if you’re hurting or if you’re genuinely happy. And even in silence, there’s a warmth between you that speaks louder than words.
Friends like that are a gift from God. There aren’t many of them — and that’s the point. One sincere friend is worth more than a hundred casual acquaintances. And as the years pass, you find yourself quietly thanking God for the few He left in your life — the ones you can walk through the darkest seasons with.
Because friendship shaped by love and loyalty is a small glimpse of eternity in our very temporary world.

Frederic Baraga was born on June 29, 1797, in the manor house at Mala Vas (German: Kleindorf) near the village of Dobrnič in Lower Carniola, a province of the Duchy of Carniola in the Austrian Empire. Today it is part of the Municipality of Trebnje in Slovenia. He was baptized Irenaeus Fridericus Paraga at Saint George's Church in Dobrnič, but never used the name "Irenaeus".
Frederic was the fourth of five children born to Janez Baraga and Marija Katarina Jožefa née Jenčič. His sister Antonija Höffern became the first Slovenian woman to immigrate to the United States. Upon her father's death, Baraga's mother inherited an estate at Mala Vas and substantial fortune. She died in 1808, and her husband in 1812. Frederic spent his childhood in the house of Jurij Dolinar, a lay professor at the diocesan seminary at Ljubljana.

Cardinals Cupich, McElroy and Tobin issued a joint letter today critiquing American foreign policy. The US is now in “the most profound and searing debate about the moral foundation for America’s actions in the world since the end of the Cold War. The events in Venezuela, Ukraine and Greenland have raised basic questions about the use of military force and the meaning of peace.”

Cardinals urge Trump to step back from threats on Greenland and Venezuela

In a rare direct rebuke to a U.S. president, three American cardinals urged the Trump administration to step back from foreign policy strategies and goals that threaten world peace. The cardinals, citing a recent warning from Pope Leo XIV of the resurgence of a “zeal for warmaking,” urged instead a return to a U.S. overseas policy focused on the protection of the right to life and investments in the promotion of human dignity.
In a joint statement, Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, archbishop of Chicago; Cardinal Robert McElroy, archbishop of Washington; and Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., archbishop of Newark, said that as “pastors and citizens…[w]e renounce war as an instrument for narrow national interests and proclaim that military action must be seen only as a last resort in extreme situations, not a normal instrument of national policy.”
In their statement, the cardinals said they embraced
Pope Leo’s vision “for the establishment of a genuinely moral foreign policy for our nation.” …

Thousands at the March for Life in Paris: On Sunday in Paris, thousands of people took to the streets for the annual March for Life. This year, the demonstration focused especially on opposing current plans to legalize euthanasia. Organizers expected a crowd of 10,000, and even state media spoke of “several thousand” participants.
