Today, Leo XIV accepted the resignation of Italian born Bishop Antonio Santarsiero Rosa, 75, of Huacho, Peru. No successor was appointed. The resignation follows allegations of homosexual misconduct. In April 2026, InfoVaticana.com had reported that complaints had been submitted to the Apostolic Nunciature in Lima and to the Vatican, accusing Santarsiero of homosexually abusing a former minor seminarian and a priest who had served as his secretary. As usual, Santarsiero has categorically denied all allegations. The seminarian claimed Santarsiero subjected him to unwanted sexual contact and used promises of scholarships, employment, and opportunities within the diocese to exercise influence over him. The former secretary to Santarsiero alleges that the bishop subjected him to unwanted physical contact and psychological manipulation. According to the dossier, the priest also claims Santarsiero attempted to discredit him by spreading claims about his sexual orientation after he rejected …More
The FSPPX chess game that recognizes the 1983 Code of Canon Law just to get a suspension of the sentence. The Lefebvre precedent in 1975 and the moods at the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (with a doubt about the legitimacy of the appeal's presentation).
"It is obviously possible to be fully Catholic while living the sacramental life according to the books of 1962. It is absolutely unacceptable to affirm the contrary", Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke told the organisers of the Chartres pilgrimage ‘Notre-Dame de Chrétienté’ in a July 14 YouTube.com video. And: "The liturgy according to the usus antiquior of the Roman Rite is an inestimable treasure of the Church which must be preserved and cherished because it is intimately linked to the very identity of the Roman Catholic Church." Cardinal Burke argued that the Roman rite has proven to be a powerful instrument of evangelization: “It is evident that this liturgy is missionary," he said. "This is seen by its fruits today as in centuries past, because it attracts through its sense of the sacred and transcendence." He added that this is "particularly evident with the younger generation," which he said has "a profound hunger for the spiritual in an increasingly horizontal world." Vatican II …More
Reports stated that Luni had collided with another vessel several days prior to the sinking. Local officials believe the damage suffered by her hull from that earlier incident ultimately caused her to take on water and break apart. Local media reports stated that the incident occurred at around the same time that explosions were heard around Bandar Abbas and nearby Qeshm Island. However, it has not yet been determined whether these were connected to the sinking. Planes colliding, ships colliding. Who needs to bomb? They do a great job on their own.
French Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, has announced that the government's assisted dying bill will be referred to the Constitutional Council following its expected final approval in the National Assembly on 15 July. This will not prevent the law from being adopted, but it will delay its implementation until the highest constitutional authority in France has ruled on its compliance with the Constitution. Three issues may receive particular scrutiny: - The waiting period until death: Whether a minimum waiting period of two days between approval and confirmation is adequate for such an irreversible decision. - Protected adults: Whether people under guardianship or curatorship are sufficiently protected and capable of giving genuine informed consent. - Conscience clause: Doctors, nurses and healthcare institutions should have sufficient rights to refuse participation. As prime minister, Lecornu should have stopped this project, as he has done with many others. President Emmanuel Macron …More

Swiss Pop Singer Films Lesbian Video in Historic Church: A 22-year-old Swiss pop singer filmed a music video with her girlfriend inside St. Emmeram Church in Regensburg, Germany. The video was intended to promote her song 'You Believe in Jesus, I Believe in Pussy', which celebrates her lesbian relationship. According to the parish, no filming permit had been granted. The matter has been referred to lawyers, and the video has since been removed from the internet.
„Ich bin aus allen Wolken gefallen, als ich das Video am Freitag gesehen habe“, sagte Roman Gerl, Pfarrer von Sankt Emmeram in Regensburg, am Montag. Es habe keine Dreherlaubnis gegeben, und für ein solches Projekt hätte er auch nie eine erteilt."
Electroverse @Electroversenet New research claims human emissions are not driving atmospheric CO2. A paper by Dai Ato ran multiple linear regressions for 1959 to 2022, testing two predictors of the annual CO2 increase: sea surface temperature and human emissions. The result was clear: when the oceans warmed, CO2 levels rose almost exactly in step - about two to three parts per million for every one degree Celsius of warming. Adding human emissions to the model didn't change the outcome. Using only ocean temperature, the model reproduced global CO2 levels with near-perfect accuracy - a correlation of 0.995 and an error of just one to two ppm by 2022. The main factor governing the annual increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration is sea surface temperature rather than human emissions. Earlier studies have shown the same pattern. Temperature changes first, CO2 follows. If Ato is correct, cutting human emissions won't lower atmospheric CO2 because it's the oceans that set the pace.
Fantastic article. Shame about the Vatican isn't it? I wonder why they did this, "Because the specific 1949 excommunication of communist Catholics was not incorporated into the 1983 Code, that automatic canonical penalty is no longer in effect." Ah make the Catholic Church safe for communists again!
