Archbishop Renzo Pegoraro, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, claims that Catholics could morally assent to a law permitting assisted suicide in Italy. Speaking to the Italian bishops’ newspaper Avvenire.it on September 6, he said: “From the Catholic side, it is a matter of assessing whether we will be faced with an ‘imperfect law’, to which it would nevertheless be moral to give one’s assent, in view of the fact that more permissive and libertarian laws could otherwise quickly be approved in Parliament, laws far more harmful to the dignity of the sick person and the value of life.” Leo XIV appointed Archbishop Pegoraro as President of the Pontifical Academy for Life on May 27, 2025. For a decade, he had already drawn attention for serious deviations from Catholic doctrine on matters of life, including statements that contraception might be morally permissible under certain circumstances. On March 25, 2026, Leo XIV appointed Pegoraro a titular bishop and gave him the personal …More
Proverbs 8:22-35 Our Lord possessed me in the beginning of his ways, before he had made any thing from the beginning. From eternity I was ordained & of old before the earth was made. The depths were not as yet, and I was now conceived, neither had the fountains of waters as yet gushed forth: the mountains with heavy hugeness stood not as yet: before the little hills I was brought forth: he had not yet made the earth, and the rivers, and the poles of the round world. When he prepared the heavens, I was present: when with a certain law and circuit he compassed the depths: When he established the firmament above, & poised the fountains of waters: when he compassed the sea with her limits, and set a law to the waters that they should not pass their bounds: when he hanged the foundations of the earth, I was with him framing all things: and was delighted every day, playing before him at all time, playing in the world: & my delights to be with the children of men. Now therefore children hear …More
Bishop Gerhard Feige of Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, eastern Germany — conspicuously without his episcopal cross — posed alongside two Protestant church leaders to comment on yesterday’s AfD election victory in Saxony-Anhalt. The bishop is the small guy in the middle with the Karl Marx beard. In a joint statement, they expressed “great concern” and said the election had left the state divided. The AfD won 43.8%, becoming by far the strongest party. This historic result was made possible by months of massive coverage across German media (anti-AfD advertising), which kept the AfD constantly visible.

EXCLUSIVE: Bishop Schneider calls for ‘fatherly charity’ towards SSPX and responds to Sacrosanctum Concilium General Audience Niwa Limbu Sep. 2, 2026 EXCLUSIVE: Bishop Athanasius Schneider has called for “fatherly charity and magnanimity” towards the SSPX and offered his assessment of the post-conciliar liturgical reform following Pope Leo XIV’s recent General Audience on Sacrosanctum Concilium Bishop Athanasius Schneider is one of the most respected and outspoken traditionalist prelates in the Church today. The auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Saint Mary in Astana, Kazakhstan, he serves in a country where Catholics make up less than one per cent of the population. The archdiocese itself was established just 23 years ago, making the bishop’s see an unlikely place from which to emerge as a prominent voice of traditional Catholic thought. Nonetheless, Bishop Schneider has become a source of inspiration and hope for a generation of young priests devoted to the Traditional Latin Mass …More
Bishop Patrick Neary of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, issued a diocesan warning against the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) after an unauthorized Mass was celebrated in the diocese. In a letter dated September 2, Bishop Neary said he had learned of a social-media post promoting a meeting at the restaurant Opole Pub to “explore bringing the Latin Mass” to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Opole. The same post advertised a Latin Mass for the following day at the Opole Ballpark Pavilion, part of the local baseball grounds. Monsignor Neary wrote that neither event was sanctioned by the diocese. Both, he said, involved a priest of the FSSPX — “a group recently declared by the Holy See to be in schism with the Catholic Church because of the illicit ordination of four bishops without a papal mandate.” The bishop told Catholics not to “support or participate in FSSPX-sponsored activities, including inviting FSSPX priests to celebrate the sacraments.” He warned that doing so “can place …More
A priest. Six bishops were excommunicated and have started the appeal process under canon law. The priest was NOT excommunicated. As bishop, he can make the mass illicit, but the mass is still valid.
