Cardinal notes “changing understandings of gender,” says Church must discern how to change. At Leo XIV's meeting marking ten years of Amoris Laetitia on October 8, Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão delivered a speech on the challenges facing families in Asia. He is the President of the Conference of Bishops of India. Discussing changes in the “identity, nature and composition of the family,” the cardinal observed that “new forms of partnership and cohabitation are emerging, amid changing understandings of gender and relationships in urban settings.” Reflecting on what the Church has learned from its pastoral work, Ferrão declared: “Pastoral work is itself a place of discernment. We don't arrive with ready-made answers. We discern together with families and, in doing so, we learn how the Church herself is being asked to change.” In his conclusion, the cardinal stated that “there is no single stereotype of an ideal family” and asked, “What is the Holy Spirit asking the Church to change – not …More
I would challenge the cardinal to ask any 5 year old how many genders there are. They will give the correct answer than this cardinal will the answer, too. Apparently, he never learned it. Or, he knows the answer and is out to destroy the Church with demonic teachings.
Apostate and Gay activistJames Martin suggests his critics struggle ‘with their own sexuality’ 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Are you not aware that wrongdoers will never inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites, thieves, extortioners, drunkards, slanderers, swindlers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 1:9 As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema.
Australian Bishop Emeritus Christopher Saunders, 76, was sentenced on Wednesday to six years and six months in prison for sexually abusing two young Aboriginal men in Western Australia. Saunders led the Diocese of Broome from 1996 until 2021. He was convicted in August of 12 counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual penetration. The offences occurred between 2008 and 2019. He was acquitted of six other charges and will be eligible for parole in February 2031. Saunders stepped aside in 2020 following allegations of sexual misconduct and misuse of Church funds. An initial police investigation was closed in 2021 due to insufficient evidence. During the trial, prosecutors alleged that Saunders used Church funds to provide young Aboriginal men with alcohol, cigarettes, cash and other benefits. The Australian Catholic Bishops' Conference apologised to the victims following the sentencing, acknowledging the harm caused by the abuse and the betrayal of trust. #newsArjlqscvyz
Leo XIV appoints religious sister – lobbying for female ordinations – to senior leadership position in the Roman Curia. On October 8, Pope Leo XIV appointed Sister Mary Teresa Barron as Adjunct Secretary of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Evangelization and President of the Pontifical Mission Societies. The Pontifical Mission Societies is a global network supporting missionary activity, particularly in Africa, Asia, Oceania and parts of Latin America. Born in Ireland, Sr. Mary became a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles. The missionary congregation was founded in Lyon, France, in 1876 for evangelization, particularly in Africa. “Some women sense a call to priesthood” At a Vatican press conference during the Synod on Synodality in 2024, Sister Barron argued for the ordination of women: “Is the Spirit calling women? Because some women do sense a call to priesthood or diaconate.” Sister Barron believes that “we have to look at broader than just can or can we not …More

Marco Rubio: “We would never violate the sovereignty of any country. “It’s very clear to me that there was more unity in the Church when we were living under Summorum Pontificum than we are now under Traditionis Custodes.” Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco made the remarks in an interview with TribuneChretienne.com on October 8. He said that the radical liturgical changes following Vatican II had damaged, and in some cases even destroyed, Catholics’ faith. Cordileone also pointed to a generational reversal: Young Catholics increasingly seek to recover tradition, while older generations remain attached to the changes introduced in their youth. What still feels new to the Vatican II generation, he observed, looks like a bygone era to young Catholics, who are searching for something timeless.
Archbishop Cordileone of San Francisco: "There was more unity in the Church when we were living under Summorum Pontificum than we are now under Traditionis Custodes."
1. The Church has unity. Not "more or less" but unity (of Faith and worship) as the basis/basic characteristics. If there is no such unity, well, you should search for the Church in another place. 2. If he said: It’s very clear to me that there was the greater fiction of unity between the Church and the neo-modernist Revolution when we were living under Summorum Pontificum than we are now under Traditionis Custodes, I would say: true indeed but he prefers to present the false description/diagnosis. 3. No Catholic is "under Traditionis Custodes" as that tyrannical document is null and void. Only "dumb dogs" prophesized by Isaias (Is 56) - sleeping and loving dreams - are under it.
I still remember the summer my grandmother left my brother and me at the country house with Grandpa because she had to go away for a day. We were eight years old. That night, we were supposed to be sleeping, but instead we were whispering, laughing, and fooling around in bed. Grandpa finally said, “Go to sleep. I’m getting you up early tomorrow. Breakfast is at nine.” We didn’t care. We stayed awake past midnight. At 8:30 the next morning, Grandpa came in. “Up. Breakfast is at nine.” “Okay, Grandpa…” And we rolled over and went right back to sleep. We finally woke up around eleven. The little storage room where all the food was kept was locked. Grandpa had the key in his pocket. That was new for us. Grandma would have reheated breakfast five times if necessary. “Grandpa, what about breakfast?” He looked at us calmly. “Breakfast was at nine.” We wandered around for a while, annoyed and hungry, then decided we didn’t care. “Grandpa, we’re going down to the river.” “Go ahead,” he said. “…More
Very tense exchange between Bérénice, a doctor of philosophy and professor, and Elwan, a 17-year-old high school student. As he challenges her legitimacy to speak about school, she responds: "This young man is not going to explain to me what a teacher's mission is." Then she recalls what she considers to be the role of the educator: to transmit "the heritage of past centuries" and "the great works." Before concluding, dryly: "I am the possessor of knowledge and you are not. You are a student." A sequence that sums up the debate on authority in school all by itself.
3 days ago DRESDEN, Germany (Reuters) — Thousands of anti-war demonstrators flooded the streets of Dresden on German Unity Day to protest Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s government over record defense spending boosts and controversial military recruitment reforms. Protesters carrying banners reading "Diplomats instead of grenades" and waving peace flags challenged Berlin’s expanding defense outlay—set to reach €108.2 billion in 2026—and new Bundeswehr registration rules requiring 18-year-old men to complete military readiness questionnaires. Demonstrators warned that continued NATO arms deliveries to Ukraine and growing confrontation with Moscow risk direct retaliation against European cities. The rally in Dresden—supported by simultaneous demonstrations in Berlin and Stuttgart—highlighted rising public opposition across Eastern Germany against compulsory military service screenings set to begin for young citizens. Russian flags flying, banners read, peace with Russia. And swearing on a banner …More
