As Auxiliary Bishop, Menezes defended the "LGBTQ+ Vigil Welcome Mass": "In my conversations with some members of the group, they find attending Mass in a parish difficult against the backdrop of what they sometimes see to be a Church that does not accept them. This means that they find a Mass at which they know that they are accepted, which is a first step to hopefully full integration in our parish communities."

US Bishop prohibits celebration facing the Lord (ad orientem). On October 2, Bishop Jeffrey Walsh, 60, of Gaylord, Michigan, issued a decree restricting the celebration of the Mass towards the Lord. It takes effect on October 15. Under the new rules, all Sunday and holy day Masses must be read - like a talk or show - facing the people. On weekdays, no more than two Masses per parish may be celebrated ad orientem, and only after consultation with the parish council and appropriate catechesis. Weddings, funerals, and other Masses with congregations must also be celebrated facing the people. Masses according to the 1962 Missal are exempt. The bishop invokes paragraph 299 of the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM), claiming it favors celebration versus populum. However, the text of GIRM 299 does NOT require Mass to be celebrated facing the people. It recommends a freestanding altar that can be walked around to incense it with a thurible and permits celebration versus populum. It …More

Senior Cardinal urges Vatican to stop insisting on the "ideal family" and consider cohabitation, interfaith unions, and changing ideas about gender.
Cardinal notes “changing understandings of gender,” says Church must discern how to change. At Leo XIV's meeting marking ten years of Amoris Laetitia on October 8, Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão delivered a speech on the challenges facing families in Asia. He is the President of the Conference of Bishops of India. Discussing changes in the “identity, nature and composition of the family,” the cardinal observed that “new forms of partnership and cohabitation are emerging, amid changing understandings of gender and relationships in urban settings.” Reflecting on what the Church has learned from its pastoral work, Ferrão declared: “Pastoral work is itself a place of discernment. We don't arrive with ready-made answers. We discern together with families and, in doing so, we learn how the Church herself is being asked to change.” In his conclusion, the cardinal stated that “there is no single stereotype of an ideal family” and asked, “What is the Holy Spirit asking the Church to change – not …More
["COOKIEGATE"] A Senator Facing Re-Election Settles a Bakery Bill, 6 Years Later nytimes.com/…cs/marshall-kansas-baker-bill-senate… Senator Roger Marshall, a Kansas Republican in a difficult race, paid an old campaign debt for cookies, muffins and brownies after a baker’s story went viral online. By Tim Balk Oct. 10, 2026 Senator Roger Marshall, a Kansas Republican, has faced a series of challenges in his unexpectedly close race for re-election. The latest: A six-year-old unpaid bill for 150 frosted sugar cookies, 100 mini strawberry muffins and 100 fudge brownies, posted online by an angry baker. The bill, the baker wrote in a social media post that quickly went viral on Thursday, was from Mr. Marshall’s primary night watch party in 2020. The cookies’ buttercream frosting carried his name in blue and yellow. And the source of her frustration was that Mr. Marshall’s 2020 campaign had never paid her the nearly $700 she said it owed her. On Saturday, Mr. Marshall wrote on social media …More

Several bishops from the Amoris Laetitia summit ask to see "what is good" in cohabiting couples
Archbishop presents sexual morality as an “ideal” instead of “rules to follow” at current Vatican meeting. At Leo XIV’s meeting marking the tenth anniversary of Amoris Laetitia, Archbishop Timothy Costelloe of Perth, Australia called for “a shift in the Church’s culture” in his October 9 address. Discussing contemporary attitudes toward sexuality, he stated that “the concept of a necessary link between sexual activity and procreation, […] is no longer widely understood or accepted.” Archbishop Costelloe advocated presenting the Church’s theology of marital intimacy as “an ideal worth striving for rather than as a list of rules and regulations to be followed.” He repeated his point: “Presenting ideals to work towards rather than rules to follow is more likely to win people over and enable them to see the values which underpin those rules and regulations.” Monsignor Costelloe stated that young couples living together before marriage are “falling short of the ideal of Chistian marriage,”…More
EXORCIST SUES FOR DEFAMATION Fr. Carlos Martins is suing an assistant to Fr. Chad Ripperger for defamation, after the assistant (Kyle Clement) essentially called Fr. Martins a fraud. Fr. Martins is an exorcist ad actum, meaning he is commissioned by bishops on a case-by-case basis to perform exorcisms in their diocese. This has been confirmed in writing by Fr. Martins' religious superior, and confirmed by Fr. Martins himself. For whatever reason, Clement claimed in 2024 that Martins is NOT an exorcist. Fr. Martins waited a year for a public retraction and apology, which never came - so he pursued reparation to his public reputation by filing a defamation lawsuit. youtube.com/watch?v=F0jJIXvjzig
Yemeni missile strike on Riyadh airport kills at least 12 — report A ballistic missile strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has killed at least 12 people and injured more than 50, according to the New York Times. Amid a shortage of interceptors in Saudi Arabia, Houthi missiles are reaching the capital. Geopolitics Prime +++ [Comment] Number 1 the Houthis warned citizen not to enter Saudi airports. Number 2, it is very hypocrite of Saudi Arabia to talk about a war crime while Saudi Arabia itself impose a blockade on Yemen for several years which is a war crime. Number 3, Saudi Arabia could easily stop this bloodshed. It could stop the blockade, but instead it double downs because it is counting on the mercenaries from Pakistan, Syria and other poor countries. You can't buy a victory in a foreign country which its people is fighting for their survival and dignity. No matter how much mercenaries they send. They will not defeat the Houthis and we must not be surprised if …More
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 22,1-14. Jesus again in reply spoke to the chief priests and the elders of the people in parables saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son. He dispatched his servants to summon the invited guests to the feast, but they refused to come. A second time he sent other servants, saying, 'Tell those invited: "Behold, I have prepared my banquet, my calves and fattened cattle are killed, and everything is ready; come to the feast."' Some ignored the invitation and went away, one to his farm, another to his business. The rest laid hold of his servants, mistreated them, and killed them. The king was enraged and sent his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. Then he said to his servants, 'The feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy to come. Go out, therefore, into the main roads and invite to the feast whomever you find.' The servants went out into the …More
