Trump Signs Order Exempting Russia From Sanctions Legislation nytimes.com/…0/16/us/politics/trump-order-russia-… The sanctions were part of legislation that was named after Senator Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina Republican who died in July. By Alan Rappeport Reporting from Washington Oct. 16, 2026, 9:55 p.m. ET President Trump signed an executive order on Friday night exempting Russia from new sanctions legislation that Congress passed last month, offering an economic lifeline to Russian President Vladimir V. Putin as the United States turns to Russia for help lowering gas prices. The new sanctions were intended to target Russian officials, oligarchs and financial institutions, and were part of legislation that was named after Senator Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina Republican who died in July after spending more than a year building support for the measure. The law, which is designed to squeeze the financial lifelines sustaining Russia’s war against Ukraine, also provided Mr. …More

Trump’s Attempt to Deport Ilhan Omar Is Another Leap Toward the Abyss nytimes.com/…26/10/16/opinion/ilhan-omar-deportat… By Michelle Goldberg In his final speech as president, Ronald Reagan emphasized the essential role of immigration in American greatness. “We lead the world because, unique among nations, we draw our people — our strength — from every country and every corner of the world,” he said. Reagan cited a letter he’d received about how one can’t simply move to France and become a Frenchman or move to Japan and become Japanese. “But anyone, from any corner of the earth, can come to live in America and become an American,” he said. Donald Trump, who launched his political career with lies about Barack Obama’s birthplace, is devoted to destroying this ideal. For Trump and his movement, real Americans are defined by race and ancestry. The administration’s war on birthright citizenship stems from that belief. It’s the reason Trump, who accused immigrants of “poisoning the blood”…More

One of them was when he interviewed a Canadian couple who moved to Russia. The wife was crying and the trolls never posted what she said. Just a picture and then accused her of crying because of Russia and how sorry she was from moving there. But she was actually crying from being so overwhelmed with so much help …More

Three Catholic dioceses in northern England have proposed merging into one amid declining numbers. Bishop Marcus Stock has submitted a report to Pope Leo XIV recommending the unification of Leeds, Middlesbrough and Hallam, which together serve approximately 496,000 Catholics in 193 parishes. Monsignor Stock, Bishop of Leeds since 2014, also serves as Apostolic Administrator of Middlesbrough and Hallam. The recommendation follows an extensive consultation involving priests, deacons, religious communities, lay Catholics, diocesan councils, trustees and Catholic schools. Nine in-person meetings were held, and an online questionnaire received 840 responses. The consultation found broad support among clergy and openness among lay Catholics to unification, provided local identities are respected. Diocesan leaders unanimously supported recommending the merger to Rome. The proposal comes amid declining participation and clergy numbers. Between 2000 and 2025, Mass attendance fell by 52%, baptisms …More

Sometimes the people we love such as our family members; God Almighty needs to bring them to conversion and repentance of their life that's leading them to Hell, the LONG and HARD way such as I'll health and suffering as we are experiencing currently in the family, and God's Ways (which I sometimes don't understand) and in His Wisdom and Great Love are working with our loved one. Trust Our Lord and the prayers and help of His Holy Mother at all times.
Speaking of Father Ripperger, I always wonder why there's never a word from the devil about what's going on in the Church. Never mocking the false Popes, the homosexual priests, the molesting of children by the clergy, the false Mass, the questionable sacraments, the worshiping of idols (demons). So many alleged exorcists and not a single one has revealed anything from the devil about the current state of what purports to be the Church founded by Christ.
I always enjoy reading about Claude Newman. Thank you @Servant Of Divine Mercy And why I have a hard time with the death penalty. Every life taken is a chance for a person's conversion.

Leo XIV called Vladimir Putin from his hospital bed, just three days after undergoing lung cancer surgery, to request a humanitarian ceasefire in Oleshky, Ukraine. “It was the Holy Father himself who took the initiative,” confirmed Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin. “I hope that, faced with a request from the Holy Father, President Putin will agree to put into practice what has been asked of him,” Parolin added.
Bishop Heiner Wilmer, chairman of the German Bishops’ Conference, confirms that Holy Communion for divorced and civilly remarried Catholics was discussed “at length and with some controversy” during the Vatican meeting marking ten years of Amoris laetitia. The discussions took place in Bishop Wilmers Italian-speaking working group, which included Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández and bishops from China, Mongolia, Poland, Mexico and elsewhere. Bishop Wilmer said differing views on the relationship between canon law and the pastoral approach of Amoris laetitia “became clear.”
Was denn nun? Geschiedene Wiederverheiratete kontrovers diskutiert oder - wie sein Pastoraltheolge Bauer über das Treffen sagte - fast alle einer Meinung ohne nennenswerte Konservative im Raum.
Wednesday, 27th August 1913: Frank Attacks Solicitor Dorseys Arraignment, The Atlanta Georgian The Atlanta Georgian, Wednesday, 27th August 1913, PAGE 8. DORSEY'S SPEECH CALLED UNFAIR Prisoner Prepares Statement to Combat What he Terms Distortion of Facts. "Dorsey's speech was as full of holes as a sieve! If I could have had just one hour to reply to his eight-hour address I am confident I could have shown the jury that I was an innocent man and that the Solicitor was misrepresenting the facts in order to obtain a conviction." This was a statement made by Leo M. Frank to friends who visited him in the jail Wednesday. "Dorsey twisted and contorted the real circumstances of the case until they were unrecognizable," he continued. "He altered everything that was said and everything that was done until it seemed to point to my guilt. If I could have spoken only briefly after he finished his eight-hour speech I could have shown, I am sure, that he departed from the facts of the case wherever …More

Western Civ Lessons for Team Trump nytimes.com/2026/10/13/opinion/western-civilizati… Oct. 13, 2026 By Bret Stephens For at least the second time this year, Marco Rubio delivered a stirring speech championing the virtues of Western civilization — “a civilization,” he said on Wednesday from the Acropolis in Athens, “that we must fight to defend today with the same passion as our forefathers did.” The same week, Pete Hegseth, the defense secretary, announced that the Pentagon would livestream the execution of the Fort Hood killer. President Trump decided to buy diesel fuel directly from Russia, potentially amounting to billions in funding for Vladimir Putin’s war machine. And The Wall Street Journal reported that Kimberly Guilfoyle, the U.S. ambassador to Greece, is under investigation by the State Department’s inspector general for receiving improper gifts in exchange for political and business favors. Is this what the secretary of state meant by Western civilization? In fact, all …More
October 17 Saint Ignatius of Antioch. breski1 Bishop and Martyr († 107) Saint Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch, was the disciple of Saint John the Evangelist. Believing that the Church on earth should resemble that of the heavenly Jerusalem of which Saint John wrote in his Apocalypse, he established singing in choirs in his church at Antioch, after a vision of the celestial choirs who sang in that manner. When the emperor Domitian persecuted the Church, Saint Ignatius obtained peace for his own flock by fasting and prayer, although for his own part he desired to suffer with Christ, and to prove himself a perfect disciple. The Roman emperors often visited Antioch, one of the cities of first importance of the empire. In 107, the eighth year of the reign of the emperor Trajan, he came to Antioch and forced the Christians to choose between apostasy and death. Saint Ignatius, who had already governed that church for forty years, continued to fortify it against apostasy, and did not flee. Arrested …More
