A few months ago I saw a good friend, a retired general who 30 years ago was Deputy Commander of all US forces in Europe. When the conversation turned to the Ukraine situation, he pointed out that Central Europe is once again the source of problems (cf. WWI, WWII, Soviet Communist expansion).
It depends upon what one sees when one looks at this. I see a fallen soul whose last days on Earth were plagued by an apparent syphilis induced dementia and madness, not dissimilar to the havoc he created in Russia for his demonic legacy. Putin doesn't believe in tearing down statues like the US Marxists. He has said, many times that Russia has moved on from Communism but leaves the statues and memorials as they are as reminders of Russian history, which includes the bad. He's actually restored monuments to the Czars that the Communist tore down. Only Communists destroy the past, which only proves he's not a Communist.
