Tragic Situation: Gaza parish-priest Fr Jorge Hernandez has published on July 19th his third letter about the tragic situation in the city. 600 refugees whose houses have been destroyed by the Israeli army are living in the Catholic School next to the parish. Water is lacking and electricity is working only three hours a day. Fr Hernandez mentions a three-year-old Catholic girl that is barely able to take a pen in her hand who has drawn – as she put it – “a plane of the evil-ones” and missiles that – quote – “make wawa and hurt.”

Invitation: New York Mayor Bill de Blasio made an in-person appeal for Pope Francis to visit New York City Monday, during a meeting with Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin. De Blasio is on a 9-day Italian vacation. He said that he and the Vatican see eye-to-eye on immigration and income inequality issues. De Blasio is a strong promoter of abortion and homosexualism. He is also a lapsed Catholic.

Utterly Shocking: Baghdad Chaldean Catholic Auxiliary Bishop Saad Syroub has commented on the fate of the Christians of Mosul: "We are speechless, because what has happened is utterly shocking.” ISIS-militants have forced the few remaining Christians of the second city of Iraq to leave their homes. They immediately fled, but were stopped at the ISIS military checkpoints and robbed of their cars and all their possessions. Most of the families headed north on foot towards the town of Dahuk. The extinction of the Christians in Iraq started with the U.S. military intervention of 2003.

From Abroad: More than 200 people – many of them Muslims – gathered after Sunday mass in front of a Catholic church in Baghdad carrying “I am Iraqi, I am Christian” slogans to show solidarity with the Christians of Mosul. Father Maysar Bahnam of Mar Korkis Catholic Church told Al Arabiya News: “Iraqis are good people but sectarian issues which could have come from abroad affected us.” Addressing the group, Patriarch Louis Raphael Sako, head of the Chaldean Catholic Church, started his speech saying “I am Christian, Sunni, Shiite, Kurd, Mandean, Yazidi and I am Iraqi,” in reference to the country’s diversity.

Well, many outside of the Church believed they are Christians but they ignored the whole Truth.
Even in the Church, there are still many ignorant. Best is to pray as our Lord wants us to pray 😉 .More
